"1'his letter is to summarize [hc formal stream verification meeting held on November 29, 2007 for the
US 64 wideni�g from Lake'foxaway [o Indian Creck (TIP R-2409 C) in "Cransylvania County. In
addition to you, those present at the meeting were Brian Wrenn, Owen Anderson, and Mike Parker
representing NCDWQ, Mark Davis, Bill Barrett, and Jeff I Icmphill repmsenting NCDOT, and myself
representing The Catena Group. As per your reques[, we will upda[e the current stream delineation
mapping to reflect [he below changes [ojurisdic[ional s[reams as determined during the tield meeting.
1. Delete an approximately 20-fout section of Stream 3 tha[ tlows underground: from lhe culverl on
the north sidc of US 64 to the next upstream-most stream tlag.
2. Extend Stream G upstream to the prominent headcut, a distance of approximately 25 feet.
Based on information provided to us during the November 29`�' agency meeting that was held after the
stream verification, changes to AI[emate 2 and the addition of Altemate 4(to avoid the small whorled
pogonia colony) will require additional delinea[ions and nalural resource investigations. Therefore,
wc do not intend to request a formal verification until ihe additional delineation work has been
completed and veritied by USACE and NCDWQ, if deemed necessary.
