Attached are the replies we received from the PEF and Galen Cail addressing your
questions about the need and placement of the causeway, and the bent placement and
span configuration. Also attached is an updated set of plans that shows the
corresponding site numbers with the data on the impact table.

This email serves as an incomplete notification for the following NCDOT projects:
Bridge 124 replacement project in Montgomery County
It is identified by the following Corps of Engineers Action ID/Project Description:
SAW-2018-00108 (NCDOT/SR 1340 (Okeewemee Star Road/BR124/Division 8)
Please provide the following:
1. Please label each fill listed in the PCN with a corresponding letter/number/specific
identifier on the Permit Drawings.
2. Please provide additional information regarding avoidance and minimization.
Specifically, please provide addition information regarding the placement of the bridge
bent within the existing stream. The existing stream width is listed as 52 feet. Please
indicate reasons that the bridge can't be designed to span the entire width.
3. Please provide additional information regarding avoidance and minimization.
Specifically, please provide a brief discussion on the need to use a temporary
workpad/causeway.
