Replace deteriorating culvert and maintain a stable roadway along SR 1206 for the safety of the traveling public
and residents of Kitty Hawic.

The existing 60" X48" X61' CMP will be removed and replaced with the proposed 95" X67" X60' CAPA. This work
will be accomplished using tracked excavator, backhoe, and dump trucks.

Site will be dewatered into a silt bags, and a bypass pump will be used to maintain stream flow around the project
area.

Culvert replacement will stay on the existing alignment. The roadway will be closed to traffic and an offsite detour
will be utilized. This will reduce temporary impacts to open waters by not utilizing an on-site detour and keeping the
road open. The closure will be coordinated with Dare County EMS.

NCDOT BMP's will be followed during culvert removal/installation and erosion control devices will be installed to
prevent sediment loss from the project site.
