Mr. Janowski (Steve),
Please find attached the determination letter for this project, exempting the feature within the project area from the
Neuse River Buffer Rules. Please also be aware that if you have plans to pipe the feature, you'll need to also make sure
that it's acceptable to the US Army Corps of Engineers (Gary Beecher, contact, and cc'ed here). Thanks again for your
patience, and if you have any questions, please let me know how I can be of help.

Mr. Janowski (Steve)
I apologize for the delay in getting that paperwork to you. I can get that paperwork to you first thing in the morning
tomorrow, as I'll have to get it signed by my supervisor, but I'll absolutely make sure that you have it by 8:00 a.m.
tomorrow. Thanks for your patience, and again, I apologize for the delay on my part.

I have not received a letter on this property indicating no streams. Can you send that today. The owner is trying to get a

Mr. Janowski (Steve),
Please find attached the form we talked about this morning. If you just complete the part about who owns the property
(and you can e-mail it back to me), that will be enough information for this time/letter. Thanks, and I should have the
documentation turned around for you by first thing tomorrow morning (b/c the supervisor I need to sign the letter is out
in the field most of the day).

Chris
I have been preparing a due diligence for this site I have attached the USGS map and the Craven County soils map for the
ditch that is on the property. It does not appear to be a stream on the USGS or on the USDA soil site. However, when I
looked at the old Crave County Soils maps I found an interiten stream symbol on the site about a 150 feet where the
culvert crosses the road. I need to determine if this is going to be classified as a stream.
I will see you Monday at 10 am on the site.
Thanks
Steve

The Division of Water Resources has determined that the streams listed above and included on the attached map
have been located on the most recent published NRCS Soil Survey of Craven County, North Carolina and/or the
most recent copy of the USGS Topographic map at a 1:24,000 scale and evaluated for applicability to the Neuse
Riparian Buffer Rule. Each stream that is checked "Not Subject' has been determined to not be at least
intermittent or not present on the property. Streams that are checked "Subject' have been located on the
property and possess characteristics that qualify them to be at least intermittent streams. There may be other
streams or features located on the property that do not appear on the maps referenced above but may be
considered jurisdictional according to the US Army Corps of Engineers and subject to the Clean Water Act.
This on-site determination shall expire five (5) years from the date of this letter. Landowners or affected parties
that dispute a determination made by the DWR may request a determination by the Director. An appeal
request must be made within sixty (60) calendar days of date of this letter to the Director in writing.
