Greene Environmental Services proposes a nutrient offset and riparian buffer mitigation bank of roughly 15 acres. There
are two drainages on the 22 acre tract; the western drainage flows to Joe Creek, the eastern drainage is to an unnamed
stream, both drainages discharge to Chocowinity Creek and ultimately to the Pamlico River. (see attachment)
Please attach a map of the site indicating project boundaries on the USGS 1:24,000 Topo and/or NRCS Soil Survey.
If you are unable to locate either of these maps, please contact the Regional Office for assistance.

Proposed Dixon Road Mitigation Bank

Greene Environmental Services, LLC is requesting that staff from the NC Division of Water
Resources conduct a Stream Determination and a Site Viability Assessment for a proposed
riparian buffer and nutrient offset mitigation bank (proposed Dixon Road Mitigation Bank)
located in HUC 03020104 (Painlico), in western Beaufort County, NC. The midpoint of the 22
acre tract is approximately 77°27'29.11"N x 35°04'33.23"W; elevation ranges from
approximately 27ft to 35ft amsl.
Access to the proposed Bank tract is via NC 33 south from Chocowinity approximately 4 mile to
Dixon Road then west on Dixon Road approximately 0.8 miles. The tract is on the south side of
Dixon Road.
GES requests that five hydrologic features are evaluation (see attached map). Feature 1 flows to
Joe Branch then Chocowinity Creek; Features 2-5 flow to an unnamed tributary to Chocowinity
Creek. Chocowinity Creek flow north and discharges to the Pamlico River at the western end of
Chocowinity Bay.
