Avoidance and Minimization 1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project. Alternate routes were discussed with the Department of Public Safety, but any route acceptable would have to cross Stream 2 on the Approximate Waters Map. Other routes off of the correctional facility were evaluated and they were found to cross other streams and/or wetlands. The road crossing has been designed to cross perpendicular to the stream to minimize the length of impact. 1b. The culvert will have a buried Invert to all stream material to accumulate within the culvert and provide aquatic transport.
