U-3338 stream relocation
IMGP4410.JPG
Mason,
Brad and I went out to look at the stream relocation site off Kerr avenue this
morning. The site looks good overall. There is an area that Brad had a concern about
where there is a clay layer in the stream of the potential of a head cut starting there.
I have included a photo of the site when I went out on the 12t" . The feature I am talking
about is where the coir fiber is kind of wrapped around an earthen blob on the far side
of the stream (downslope of the flag tied in the shrubs/cattails). The water is higher in
this photo than what it is now, but you can still envision that there is a hump there.
We also looked at the old existing riprap that is still there. We are going to let you make
the decision of pulling the concrete out, some of it out or none of it out. We are
concerned that if you dig too much of the pieces of concrete that are buried, it might
start a head cut there as well. Plus having to cut back all the vegetation to get to it. Ball
is in your court for that!
