Do not click links or open attachments unless verified. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to Report Spare. Good morning, Sue. In answer to the questions below: The upper pond is fed by a buried 6in pvc pipe submerged under rocks for fresh water intake from the creek to keep the water levels consistent (and have the ability to adjust the flow as desired), the water very clean, and the temperatures low. The first pond is about 6 feet deep, and flows through a large (around 18 inch) vertical culvert with a 90 deg elbow at the bottom of the pond directed under the ground into the lower, large pond. The large pond is around 12 feet deep, and empties at the far end under the dam side into the same creek in the same way but with a smaller pvc (around Bin with another larger diameter pipe slipped around it to keep debris from clogging it, and to allow water to be forced in more from the pressure below created between the 2 pipes rather than just flowing in directly from the surface). This pipe is weighed down at the bottom of the pond with concrete blocks and also angled with a 90 deg elbow, buried under the dam and running to the creek. I also had my grader add a 4-6 ft wide emergency spillway trench with large rocks in it to keep any floods from ever washing the dam away. I hope this helps. I'll see what I can do about drawing a sketch. Here are a few questions: • What is the depth of these ponds? I'm particularly interested in the depth of the lower pond. • How are the ponds drained? • Does the landowner anticipate any maintenance of these ponds (e.g., dredging)? • Can the applicant provide a drawing or schematic of the ponds, showing the intermittent stream, Little Creek, and the ponds, along with a scale and North arrow?
