MEMORANDUM
To: Morella S. King
From: Jim Bushar:?HaullIPertnit
Subject: Pump No. WQ0036285
Summerhouse WWTP (WQ0029945)
Onslow County
The Onslow Water & Sewer Authority (ONWASA) is permitted to operate a 400,000 gpd
Nonconjunctive Reclaimed Water Utilization System with infiltration disposal at the Summerhouse
S/D and has requested modification to Pump & Haul Permit WQ0036285 to include pumping and
hauling to the influent pumping station at the Hunters Creek WWTP as well as to the Holly Ridge
WWTP for an unchanged permitted pump & haul volume of up to 11,430 gpd of raw domestic
wastewater. The reason for the pump & haul modification request is that the Holly Ridge WWTP
and disposal system can not take the full pump & haul permitted amount (11,430 gpd) at this time.
Wastewater sent to the Hunters Creek influent pumping station is to be processed at the MCB
Camp Lejeune Advanced Wastewater Plant in accordance the conditions of Permit No. NCO063029
per the agreement between ONWASA and the MCB Camp Lejeune.

Subject: Pump & Haul Permit No. WQ0036285
Summerhouse S/D
Onslow County
Dear Mr. Farmer:
In accordance with the enclosed pump and haul permit modification request by ONWASA (Mr. Timothy
Webb), it will be permissible to add the Hunters Creek influent pumping station as a pump & haul transfer point for
raw wastewater generated at the Summerhouse subdivision. The wastewater is to be processed at the MCB Camp
Lejeune Advanced Wastewater Treatment plant in accordance with Permit No. NCO063029. Additionally, pump &
haul volumes may continue to be transferred from the Summerhouse sewer collection system Pumping Stations
#2,#3, and #4 for processing at the Holly Ridge WWTP. Please be advised that the original pump & haul permitted
volume of 80,000 gal/week (11,430 gpd) has not changed. A request for additional permitted flow volume would
require the permittee to apply for a major permit modification, which would include the submittal of a completed
permit application and fee.
This permit shall be effective from January 10, 2013 until June 10, 2013 and shall be subject to the
conditions and limitations as specified therein. Please pay particular attention to the monitoring requirements in
this permit. Failure to establish an adequate system for collecting and maintaining the required operational
information will constitute noncompliance with the permit. Also, please note Condition No. 8 in the permit, which
states that the pump and haul activity will cease upon the expiration date.
If any parts, requirements, or limitations contained in this permit are unacceptable to you, you have the right
to request an adjudicatory hearing upon written request within 30 days following receipt of this permit. This request
must be in the form of a written petition, conforming to Chapter 150B of North Carolina General Statutes, and filed
with the Office of Administrative Hearings, P.O. Drawer 27447, Raleigh, NC 27611-7447. Unless such demands
are made, this permit shall be final and binding.
