Thank you for your submission concerning the above referenced project. We have reviewed the information
provided and offer the following comments.
Two previously recorded aYchaeological sites, 31WA1137 and 31WA1138, are located in the proposed project
area. We have determined that site 31WA1138 is not eligible for listing in the Narional Register of Historic
Places. The Neuse Levee Site (31 WA1137) has yielded important infoYmation about American Indian lifeways
during the shift from the Late Archaic Period to the Early Woodland Period, and is eligible for listing in the
National Register.
We request that your project designer(s) consult with the Office of State Archaeology regarcling earth-
disturbing activities associated with the proposed project, with the goal of developing specifications and
procedures that will minimize impacts to 31 WA1137.
We have determined that the project as proposed will not have an effect on any historic structures.

Advisory Council on Historic Preservation's Regulations foY Compliance with Section 106 codified at 36 CFR
Part 800.
