Dear Ms. Bartos:

Our company, Dependable Development, is hereby contacting the North Carolina State Historic
Preservation Office regarding the presence of any historic properties or cultural resources within the
referenced project area. The Haven at Rocky River site is approximately 71 acres in extent and is
located northeast of the Flowes Store Road and Bostwood Lane intersection in unincorporated
Cabarrus County, North Carolina. The project area includes Cabarrus County Tax Parcel No.
55375877960000 (Figures 1 and 2, attached). The center coordinates for the project are 35.330129°, -
80.556517°. Carolina Wetland Services, Inc. (CWS) is the acting environmental consultant for this
project and has prepared the following documentation and they will be included in all correspondences.

The project area is primarily forested and is dominated by mixed pine-hardwood forest (Figure 3,
attached). A sewer-line right-of-way exists in the southwestern portion of the project area. Dominant
on-site vegetation consists of loblolly pine (Pinus taeda), beech (Fagus grandifolia), eastern red cedar
(Juniperus virginiana), hackberry (Celtis occidentalis), northern red oak (Quercus rubra), red maple
(Acer rubrum), slippery elm (Ulmus rubra), sweetgum (Liquidambar styraciflua), Virginia pine (Pinus
virginiana), willow oak (Quercus phellos), Chinese privet (Ligustrum sinense), giant cane (Arundinaria
gigantea), greenbrier (Smilax rotundifolia), Japanese honeysuckle (Lonicera japonica), muscadine (Vitis
rotundifolia), poison ivy (Toxicodendron radicans), Virginia creeper (Parthenocissus quinquefolia),
Christmas fern (Polystichum acrostichoides), and Nepalese browntop (Microstegium vimineum).

The property is a proposed residential subdivision. Based on a review of the State Historic
Preservation Office’s online GIS Mapping Application 1, there are no historic properties listed within the
project limits (Figure 4, attached).
