Good afternoon,
Highway Division 3 of the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is
progressing through the project development, environmental, and engineering studies
for the proposed road widening of NC 133 (River Road) with a proposed multi-use path
in Belville, Brunswick County, North Carolina. The project is identified in the NCDOT
State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) as project number U-5914. The
project is anticipated to be state funded.

We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in
evaluating potential environmental impacts of the project. Your comments will be used
in preparation of a state-funded Minimum Criteria Determination Checklist, prepared in
accordance with the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA). If applicable, please identify
any permits or approvals that may be required by your agency. Please respond by
March 12, 2018, so that your comments can be used in the design of the project and
incorporated into the environmental document. Copies of the vicinity map are
attached.
