Dear Scoping Participants,
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) Division 2 has started the project
development, environmental, and engineering studies for the subject projects. The projects are
included in the approved 2018-2027 NCDOT STIP with right-of-way in fiscal year (FY) 2022
and construction in FY 2022. At this time, we anticipate the preparation of a Federal Categorical
Exclusion in accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
An External Scoping Meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at 1:00pm
and will be held at the NCDOT Division 2 Project Development office located at 1037 W. H.
Smith Boulevard, Greenville. The purpose of this meeting is to initiate coordination with our
agency partners by discussing known information about the project and project area. Attached
for your review are the Project Data Sheets and mapping. We would appreciate any information
you might have that would be helpful in identifying and evaluating important issues or topics that
should be considered. Please review the packet, and feel free to contact us if you have any
questions or concerns prior to the Scoping Meeting. Thank you for your assistance in the project
development process.
