Previous comments on this project were developed by David McHenry of NCWRC on May 11, 2010 and are attached. The present comments build on those comments. Project activities should not impact wild trout and a trout moratorium does not need to be observed. We appreciate the applicant's use of a bottom draw structure (or coldwater release) in their design. Please note that it is essential to maintain flows downstream of the pond if the intermittent stream is flowing upstream of the pond during project construction and while the pond fills. Thank you for the opportunity to review and comment on this project. Please contact me if you have any questions about these comments or need further assistance.
