*Opportunity to serve as DWQ's representative on the DENR
Sustainability
Team*
I currently serve as DWQ's representative on the DENR Sustainability
Team. I've really enjoyed it, but it's time for a new DWQ
representative. There are many cutting edge ideas, policies and
actions
that originate through this team. Just a few of the issues the Team
is
involved with follow:
- teleworking policy/procedure
- Best Work Place
- green building
- book exchange
- recycling
- composting
- Smart Commute
- new employee orientation
- education
These are just a few of the many interesting issues!
The Team meets once a month (second Wednesday of each month from 1:30
until 3pm). The various subcommittees present results of their
meetings/work, and then new business is discussed. Each DENR division
has a representative participate on the Team. Representatives are
expected to serve on at least one subcommittee, attend all Team
meetings
(or have a replacement for any meetings you can not participate in),
and
involve and inform your division of Sustainable activities.

should give you a better idea of what you would potentially be
involved
with.
If you are interested in serving as DWQ's representative starting
this
May 13th (Wednesday) please let me know by Friday, March 20th. Please
include a brief paragraph as to why you would like to serve DWQ and
DENR
on the Sustainability Team. I think you will really enjoy the
experience

did not distribute to DWQ staff outside of Raleigh since all meetings
are held in a Raleigh location and web conferencing is not always
available.
