Once the work is complete, the impervious dikes will be removed and preconstruction s#reambed eievations wi.11 be restored. This project was reiewed for the presence of threatened and endangered species in the field and I have also included a query of the NCNHP database. Sased on the project area mapped with my request, the da.tabase search indicates tha.t there are no recoarcis of federaly listed T/E species, importan# natural comrruaiities, naturai axeas, or conservatioa/managed areas within the praposed project boundary {see attached}. There will be approximately 1.1 acres of iree cutting when the full typical sction width is built. The NLEB is listed as a protected species in this county but the project does nat fall within 0.25 miles of any red H[TC identified in the SLOPES spelled out in the Naionwide Permit Regional Conditions. We dfl not anticipate any impact ta any other federally listed specis. T,his project is not located within a trout watershed. Cultural resource work has been compieted. No surveys were required (see attached}. The project impacts are not signifcant in nature and should not xemvve or degrade existing water quality uses. By utilizing appropriat BMPs, downstream water quality standards vvill be protected. Overall water qualEy in the area will be impraved by paving the gravel surface. Attached is a Preconstruction Notification Form, a plan sheet, a rnarked county map ad a marked. topogzaphy map. By copy of this electronic letter, it i requested that the Division of Water Resources, 401/Wetlands Unit, issue the appropriate permit for construction of this project.
