Quality Impacts) There is one jurisdictional stream crossing the middle of the project at 955+00 which is not impacted by the design. The proposed design calls to replace the existing 4-span
bridge with a 63.67' continuous span bridge over Little Creek. The proposed design also calls for a special lateral base ditch at Sta. 944+00 channeling into riprap toe protection
along the fill slope of the proposed siding track. Flow velocity entering the immediate existing wetland is limited to no greater than 2 ft/sec.
Other measures to minimize environmental impacts include making the fill slopes 2:1 to lessen the construction footprint of the project. Deck drainage for the proposed bridge
over Little Creek will be designed so that no storm water discharges directly into the stream surface. The existing bridge bents to be removed in the stream will be called to be
cut at the mudline to eliminate impacts.
