Weare seeking approval only for Buffer Rules. There is an existing private sanitary sewer line that parallels the existing building that connects to an existing public sanitary sewer line owned by the City of Raleigh. One existing manhole is not needed and potentially poses a construction conflict with the proposed building foundation. The existing manhole in conflict is to be abandoned in place or removed as determined by the Contrac- tor. This will cause some land disturbance to Zone 2 ofthe NRRB. In addition, incidental land disturbance will occur in Zone 2 of the NRRB as a result of the construction ofthe proposed par- tial building demolition and construction ofthe new addition due to proximity. The proposed building and associated sidewalk is not located within the NRRB. The Contractor is responsible to repair any and all disturbed areas of the NRRB Zone 2 and all other areas ofland disturbance as a result of this work. The unnamed stream is a local spring as noted on the documents. The accompanying plans and application forms will illustrate the proposed work and its impact on the riparian buffer where the work is planned to occur. Contents: 1. PCN Application Form 2. Project Description 3a. Describe the existing conditions on the site and the general land use in the vicinity of the project at the time of this application: Existing uses include parking areas and paved drives to the west of the NRRB; existing building to the south and parallel to the NRRB. Ground cover in NRRB Zone 1 consist of natural trees and ivy ground cover; Zone 2 is managed lawn grass. 3b. List the total estimated acreage of all existing wetlands on the property: Zero. 3c. List the total estimated linear feet of all existing streams (intermittent and perennial) on the property: 300 feet of a natural spring 3d. Explain the purpose of the proposed project: The purpose of this project is to partially demolish the existing building and replace with a slightly larger building in the same location. Removal of an abandoned sanitary sewer manhole, in place, may be required to allow building foundation construction. Install 4-inch diameter PVC drainage piping to discharge the roof runoff into a class B stone dissipater at grade for diffuse flow of roof discharge. 3e. Describe the overall project in detail, including the type of equipment to be used: Demolish approximately 2511 square feet of existing building and sidewalk and replace it with approximately 4882 square feet of new building and sidewalk generally in the same location. 2409 square feet of existing impervious surface located elsewhere on the site will be removed so as to have a net increase in impervious surface area of -38 square feet. Domestic water service will be extended from the remaining existing building structure and sanitary sewer service will be extended to the existing private sanitary sewer line. One abandoned existing sanitary sewer manhole may be required to be demolished in place, to allow building foundation construction, by breaking the upper cone and infilling the debris into the lower section of the manhole in place. 4.
