Home My WebLink AboutWQCSD0008_Compliance Evaluation Inspection_20180208Water Resources ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY ROY COOPER Govet not MICHAEL S REGAN Sect etmy LINDA CULPEPPER Into int Dit ectot February 8, 2018 Mr Charles Hawkins, Mayor Town of Saratoga PO Box 207 Saratoga, NC 27873 Subject Compliance Evaluation Inspection Town of Saratoga Collection System No WQCSD0008 Wilson County Dear Mr Hawkins, Water Resources perm►W►n9 Secy►on On February 8, 2018, Rick Trone of the Raleigh Regional Office conducted an inspection of the collection system at the subject facility The collection system is deemed permitted through 15A NCAC 02T 0403 Present during the inspection was Mr M J Jackson, Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC) His cooperation during this inspection was appreciated Findings during the inspection were as follows 1 The system consists of seven pump stations of which six are in operation Five pump stations were inspected and inspection logs were up to date The findings of each pump station are as follows a Rogers Street/ballfield identified by signage, secure access, audio/visual alarms functioned when the high-water floats were activated and pumps were operational The generator is tested weekly and during the inspection it was tested successfully b Speight School there is no fence surrounding station, however, the equipment is locked and identified with signage The ORC indicated this station was not in active use c Varnell Drive identified by signage, secure access, the audio alarm functioned, however, the visible alarm was not working Both pumps were operational d Triangle identified by signage, secure access, audio/visual alarms functioned when the high-water floats were activated and both pumps were operational On-site generator did not start when power to station was cut Mr Jackson called RRO later to report a fuse was found blown in the generator and had been replaced The generator is now working. This station informs operator and Town Hall via telephone call This feature worked at the time of the inspection e.
