Dear Mr. Marlar,
Please find attached your approved copy of the waste pit reclamation plan for the Radford
Quarries of Boone, Inc. property. The following conditions shall be complied with:
1. The contractor shall install and maintain the haul road into the waste area at no cost to the
Department.
2. Any improvements or additions to existing drainage on private property shall be at
no cost to the Department.
The Department shall not participate in the cost of installing and or maintaining the erosion
control on the quarry site. All measures should already be installed according to the mining
permit.
With the approval of this waste area, it will be necessary that the following items are
closely adhered to:
1. All erosion control devices shall be installed and maintained according to the mining permit
number 95-03 as approved by the NC Dept. of Environment and Natural Resources.
2. Stockpiles of rock material shall be constructed in the areas shown on the plan that was
submitted to the Department for approval. If the stockpiles are not constructed in the areas
designated on the submitted plan, hauling to the quarry site shall be stopped immediately.

3. It is understood that only rock material shall be brought to the quarry site. No earth material
or dirt shall be deposited on the quarry site. The rock material is to be stockpiled for crushing
purposes only. Once the rock is crushed, it is understood that the stone shall be sold to the public.
Please be advised that if the waste pit needs to be expanded, a revised or additional reclamation
plan must be submitted. Also note that any local ordinances or laws, if applicable, must be
complied with in addition to this reclamation plan.
