We are requesting for NC Division of Water Quality (NCDWQ) written approval under the Neuse River Buffer Rules. We have addressed your included written comments in the following paragraphs. 1. Please provide an inventory of imperviousness surfaces in each drainage area. The inventory should include all proposed building footprints, roads, driveways, sidewalks, gravel-surfaced areas, amenity areas, etc. A Stormwater Management Plan (SMP) must be provided for any drainage areas that exceed 24 percent imperviousness. For each BMP, provide a completed BMP Supplement Form with all the required items (see http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/su/bmp forms.htm). Per NCAC 2B 15A: 02H.1000, a "drainage area" is defined as "the entire area contributing surface runoff to a single point." Birchwood Subdivision is comprised of one drainage basin which drains to the detention pond near the southern property line. The total drainage area is 11.20-acres. The inventory of impervious surfaces in this drainage basin is as follows and limited to these areas: Area Building Footprints Roads Driveways Quantity Area per Lot (SF) Total Acres Impervious % 18 1,800 0.74 6.6% 2 0.69 6.2% 18 1,350 0.55 4.9% 2.00+/- 17.9%+/- Totals DWQ 401 Permit Re-Submittal Birchwood Subdivision February 20, 2009 Page 2 of 2 Thank you for your assistance with this endeavor.
