Subject: Weaver Farm – Completion of Construction and Planting Activities
Dear Ms. Merritt:
This memo is intended to give you notice that Restoration Systems completed the Restoration Plan at
Weaver Farm with minimal adjustments. The following table provides a comparison between the
approved BPDP projected timeline and when activities occurred.
Activity / Milestone BPDP Proposed Date Actual Date
BPDP Approved NA July 7, 2017
Parcel Protection via conservation easement June 2017 July 11, 2017
Cattle exclusion / fence construction June 2017 July – August 2017
Removal of poultry houses / impervious
surfaces June/July 2017 August – October 2017
Soil preparation July through November 2017 October – December 2017
Removal of Powerline/Pole NA December 2017
Planting 12 / 2017 December 12th, 2017
As-Built 01 / 2018 On schedule for 2-2018
Year 1-5 Monitoring 10 / 2018 - 2022 On schedule
Three primary construction activities were to occur onsite, 1.) Removal of existing poultry houses and the
associated impervious surfaces, 2.) Removal of two culverts within the Parcel and 3) replacement of one
culvert outside of the Parcel. All of these activities occurred without issue. During the removal of the
turkey barns, the landowner requested that the structures outside of the easement not be removed
entirely. Thus, outside of the easement, small portions of two turkey houses still exist. One current acts
as a home/protection for livestock and the other is being removed piece by piece by the landowner and
sold as scrap material.
As detailed in the BPDP, culverts within and outside of the easement were removed and side slopes
graded to match existing slopes. Matting was installed and staked into place, and seed planted.
During restoration activities, RS concluded that ripping pasture areas would not be a long-term benefit to
the Site. As part of the soil preparation activities, Carolina silvics treated the pasture areas for fescue and
with a pre-emergent herbicide. See the attached treatment logs.
Bare root planting occurred on December 12th, 2017 without issue. Minor adjustments were made in
planting composition due to species availability. The table below shows specified species and quantity
from the BPDP and actual planted species and quantity. 20.77 acres we planted at a density of 804 stems
per acre.
Vegetation Association: Basic Oak-Hickory Forest Coastal Plain Bottomland

Black willow (Salix nigra) – Live Stake as needed for streambank stabilization
Due to the termination of agricultural activities, stream banks are stable.
During the replacement of the culvert at the head of Feature 1, approximately 20-feet of piping was
removed and not replaced. The Feature now starts at the easement boundary. This area will be resurveyed
during the as-built effort, and any modification of the creditable area will be detailed in the as-built report
and survey.
Axiom Environmental installed 22 10m x 10m CVS monitoring plots across the site in early January 2018.
The 22 plots will monitor the 20.77 acres of planted area.
As detailed in the timeline above, the entire property was fenced between July and August of 2017. No
issues with encroachment have occurred to-date. The fencing clearly delineates the easement boundary.

Area DescriptionArea Description Sprayed rows on 8 foot centers for Ray. The pastures were mowed for this
treatment which meant the spray booms would not break off. I had some trouble
navigating my spray at areas at first but gained control once I added enough blue
dye to the solution and could see the rows sprayed.

Area DescriptionArea Description Sprayed lines at 8 foot centers for Ray at Weaver. The vegetation was so tall that it
was breaking the spray booms and we could on spray one row at a time. Which
took twice as long. We were able to get over half the site sprayed.
