In accordance with requirements in NPDES Permit NC0004961 Part LA.16 and Special Order by
Consent EMC SOC WQ S16-005, Duke Energy Carolinas, LLC (Duke) will reduce the sampling
frequency for the subject outfalls to quarterly beginning in January 2018. One year of monthly sampling
has taken place for these outfalls as required. Duke hereby requests that DEQ update their BIMS
system to accept quarterly samples for these outfalls in accordance with the terms of the permit and
SOC.
