Dear Mr. Zimmerman,
As discussed with the Division in several meetings and in response to the letter received on October 19,
2017 titled "Update Regarding DEQ's August 25, 2017 Compliance Boundaries for North Carolina Coal
Ash Facilities and September 19, 2017 Request for Extension Approval Letters", Duke Energy is
proposing updated due dates for the Comprehensive Site Assessments (CSA) at the remaining facilities
not mentioned in the September 22, 2017 letter.
The table below shows the proposed timeline for all North Carolina facilities. Allen, Belews Creek,
Marshall, Mayo, Rogers (Cliffside), and Roxboro are shown below with a proposed Corrective Action
Plan (CAP) submittal date four months after the CSA approval. The remaining facilities are proposed to
have updated OAPs submitted 180 days after approval of the CSAs.
