(STIP) Project Number U-5999: Kellie Drive, Construct Roadway on New Location from
North of SR 1923 (Booker Dairy Road) to SR 1003 (Buffalo Road), Johnston County, WBS
Number 47117.1.1.
Dear Mr. Ridings,
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has started the project
development, environmental, and engineering studies for the subject project. This project is
approximately 0.6-mile long. The project is included in the North Carolina Department of
Transportation's 2018 — 2027 STIP and is scheduled for right of way and construction in iiscal
year 2018.
We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in evaluating
potential environmental impacts of the project. At this time, it is anticipated that a State
Minimum Criteria Checklist (SMCC) will be prepared for this project. The project will likely
require the following permits: (USACE Section 404 permit and NCDENR Section 401 Water
Quality Certiiication). Please respond by December 22, 2017, so that your comments can be
used in the selection of alternatives to be studied for this project. PDFs of the vicinity and study
area maps are attached for your reference
