Ms. Chuffo and Mr. Graven,
After review of the proposed lease of 7.92 -acre of bottom and water column amendments in Old House Channel, Dare
County, there appears to be limited potential for shallow bottom or SAV habitat impact due to the reported water
depths and clearance between the gear and water surface at mean low water within the lease area.
If the US Army Corps of Engineers issues NW 48 for this proposal, this will require written approval under our General
Certification No.4091 httta:/edeas deq:nc.cav/aterlescrurtes/1dcac/ 233.3/I�a.ge_j a_s.x . The application fee will be
$240 once the lease is approved and prior to issuance of the 401 approval letter. Please have the applicant include the
DWR project # 20171438 on the check since they will be received separate from this application.
