Dear Dr. Chernikov:
On August 31, 2017, American Zinc Products LLC ("AZP") submitted to the
North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (the "Department") an application
for a modification to its existing NPDES Permit #NC0089109. Based on a continuing
review of planning for future restart of the facility, AZP hereby withdraws the application
submitted to the Department on August 31, 2017, which consequently vitiates the draft
modified permit you issued on October 16, 2017.
