Dear Mr. Johnson:
The Washington Regional Office received your application for a CAMA Major Permit from the Division of
Coastal Management on February 22, 2008. The impacts proposed are for constructing a 10-slip dock and
bulkhead as described in your application. This project was placed on HOLD June 2, 2008, and violation of 404
wetlands, by fill, was noted during an on-site review. The issue of wetland fill at the subject site has been
resolved and on November 12, 2008, during a phone conversation, the subject of permitting 404 wetland fill at
this site was discussed. It was the recommendation of this Office that the proposed wetland fill be incorporated
with the CAMA permit and a modification to the existing CAMA permit be sought. As of the date of this letter
this Office has not received a modification to the existing CAMA permit; therefore, the current permit is being
issued. This Certification can also be found on line at: http://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/ncwetlands/certs.html. You are
authorized to proceed with your project as proposed under General Water Quality Certification (WQC) #3642
(enclosed). This Certification allows you to use the CAMA Major Permit when the Division of Coastal
Management issues it. This written concurrence from the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) requires that you
can meet all of the conditions of the General Water Quality Certification.
If at anytime during construction of your project you determine that you cannot meet these conditions or if there
are any additional impacts to wetlands or water quality not described in your application, you must contact
this office immediately.
