D. Impact Justification and Mitigation
1. Avoidance and Minimization
1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing project.
The stream bank will be restored to the original location to avoid increased erosion up and downstream of the project
location. The bank stabilization will be with vegetated grow socks for a soft natural bank face instead of hard-scaping
with rock.
b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques.
A coffer damn and pump will be used to ensure work is performed outside of the flow of the stream. Only vegetation in
the immediate work area will be disturbed. Care will be taken not to impact vegetation unless necessary. Proper erosion
control will also be used to avoid discharges to the stream.
2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State
2a. Does the project require Compensatory Mitigation for
impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State?
❑ Yes ® No

6. Buffer Mitigation (State Regulated Riparian Buffer Rules) — required by DWQ
6a. Will the project result in an impact within a protected riparian buffer that requires
buffer mitigation? If yes, you will have to fill out this entire form — please
contact the State for more information.
