SUBJECT: Request for Renewal of State Permit No. 120-88
Cannonsgate c/o R.A. North Development, Inc., Carteret County

Mr. Gene Euchler, representing R.A. Management, Inc., is requesting renewal of State Permit No. 120-
88 for continued upland development at the subject facility and for maintenance dredging of the entrance
channel, access canal or boat basin, at the Cannonsgate Subdivision, located along NC Highway 24, adjacent to
the AIWW, Sikes Creek and Bogue Sound, in Ocean, Carteret County. Specifically, the applicant is requesting
renewal of this permit to continue the archaeological survey and assessment, and to maintain the marina basin
and access channel. State Permit No. 120-88 is scheduled to expire on December 31, 2008. The applicant
acknowledges the permit conditions set forth in State Permit No. 120-88 and requests no other modifications at
this time.

This Office has no objection to the renewal of Permit No. 120-88 and recommends a 5- Year
Maintenance Renewal Clause. The applicant has included a check (ck no. 0000002790) in the amount of
$100.00 for the renewal.

Mr. Dail;

The above-mentioned permit will expire on December 31, 2008. All permit
conditions of the permit have been met with the exception of condition number
40. An archaeological survey has been undertaken. All fieldwork associated with
this condition has been completed. The laboratory analysis and reporting of this
effort will be completed in due time.

This effort and the request for extension have been coordinated with the State
Office of Cultural Resources. Cultural Resource staff support the request. State
Cultural Resources staff has coordinated this request for extension with Mr. Doug
Huggett.

Therefore, please provide a renewal of this permit to include the ability to
continue to work on the completion of the archaeological and cultural resource
conditions, marina maintenance and all pertinent conditions of the permit.
