RE: Evaluations for Recommending Background Groundwater and Soil Datasets
W.H. Weatherspoon Power Plant
Dear Mr. White:
As discussed on October 25, 2016 and subsequent meetings between NCDEQ, Duke Energy, and Duke
Energy consultants, evaluations have been performed on site -specific bases to recommend groundwater
and soil data for use in calculating site -specific groundwater and soil background values. Attached you
will find tech memos and evaluation tables produced by SynTera Corporation summarizing the
groundwater and soil datasets recommended for use in calculating respective background values at the
W.H. Weatherspoon Power Plant. If you have any questions or need any clarification regarding the
information provided, feel free to contact me at lohn.toepfer(@duke-enerey.com or at 919-546-7863 at
your convenience.
