VAN DER VAART Secretary S. JAY ZIMMERMAN November 3, 2016 er. Subject: Request for Comprehensive Soil, Sediment, and Seep Data Dear Mr. Sideris: The Division of Water Resources (DWR) transmitted a letter to Duke Energy on July 8, 2016 that requested compilation and submittal of site assessment data in a specific format. An example data format template was attached to illustrate how groundwater, surface water, sediment, and seep data were to be compiled. On August 3, 2016, the DWR staff met with Duke Energy staff to discuss monthly data submittals. During that meeting, it was agreed that Duke Energy would provide a comprehensive groundwater data summary to the DWR in mid - September with monthly groundwater data submittal updates thereafter. It was also agreed during that meeting that Duke Energy would provide a comprehensive soil, sediment, and seep data summary to the DWR in mid -October, followed by monthly data submittal updates thereafter. This request was also re -iterated to Duke Energy staff during the September 21, 2016 joint meeting at the DWR Mooresville Regional Office. As of the date of this letter, the DWR has yet to receive comprehensive soil, sediment, and seep data from Duke Energy. The Division expects to receive the data as requested in order to facilitate internal review of site assessment data. Corrective action plans will not be approved until the Division has these data in a format that can facilitate internal review. Therefore, the DWR requests this information be submitted by November 30, 2016. The format for the soil, sediment, and seep data shall follow the same template as the comprehensive groundwater data submittal mentioned above that was transmitted to Duke Energy on July 8, 2016.
