HomeMy WebLinkAbout20171244 Ver 1_401 Application_20171017September 18, 2017 Mr. Raleigh Bland US Army Corps of Engineers 2407 West 5`h Street Washington, NC 27889 Mr. Anthony Scarbraugh NCDEQ DWR WQROS 943 Washington Square Mall Washington, NC 27889 2 0 1 7 1 2 4 4 Subject: Tammy Edwards Project Bulkhead, Pier, Boat Lift and Boat Ramp Pitt County Dear Mr. Bland and Mr. Scarbraugh: Please find attached is my PCN for the proposed project. I have tried to fill the application out to the best of my ability with my contractors advice and yours. I would like to talk about each part of my project in detail to give you a better understanding. My contractor is George Linton and you may contact him at 252-943-7154 if you have any questions for him. First: I would like to bulkhead my shoreline with vinyl material. The lengths (DEPTH) will vary depending on the shoreline. The bulkhead will wrap around my property from property line to property line. It is estimated to be approximately 932 linear feet of bulkhead. This will include the ends coming back into the property at four different locations by eight feet: each of the property lines and at the drainage swale that discharges into Reedy Branch. The bulkhead and tye backs will be vibrated in. All hardware will be either galvanized steel or stainless steel. The bulkhead will extend into the water from the shoreline on average two feet. Because of the length, the project will be completed within the life of the permit (which I believe is good for three years). After each stage, the bulkhead will be backfilled, graded and seeded. All measures will be taken to prevent any settlement from getting into the Tar River and Reedy Branch. There is one area along my waterfront that I would like to fill and straighten. This area is approximately 4,900 square feet. This area is always receiving trash and debris which is caught from upstream. The area is shallow in depth and is mucky on the bottom. I wish to straighten my property by bulkheading this portion of my property (please see drawings) I propose to put my boat ramp in this area. All fill material will be from off-site. Second: The boatramp will be located in the area described above. Vinyl bulkhead will be placed around the boat ramp. The ramp size will be twenty feet long and ten feet wide. The ramp will be made from pressure treated wood with separation between the slats. The only impervious material that will be part of my project is the driveway that will go through the Tar/Pamlico Buffer. I propose 500 square feet of impervious feet. 300 through zone one and 200 through zone two. Again, all pilings and vinyl will be vibrated in. Third: The boat lift will entail four pressure treated pilings spaced thirteen feet apart in a rectangle. There will be no roof on the pilings. The lift will entail a boat hoist manufactured for this purpose. Fourth: The pier will be built to have access to the boat lift. The walkway will be five feet four inches and the platform will be sixteen feet by sixteen feet. The total length will be fifty feet from the bulkhead. All materials will be made from wood. If you should have any questions, please give me a call or Mr. George Linton. Thanks for your consideration on my project. Sincerely, Tammy Edwards oe° N r C? Y Office Use Only: Corps action ID no.
