Discussion Topics:
• I-5986 Environmental and Permitting:
o Widening of I-95 from mile marker 56 to 81 (I-40)

• Do not have funding for this portion, but want it included in planning
documents
■ I-5986B — from mile marker 71 to 81
• Have funding for design and construction of this portion and moving
forward with planning and design
Want to go forward with new CE process. Additionally, Sungate prefers to have 4B/4C
type meetings to facilitate communication.
The desire is to be allowed to obtain a general permit versus an individual permit

■ Plan would be to meet with the Agencies periodically to discuss individual
sections as they progress and impacts are determined. Standing meetings with
the Corps and the Division are every ls` & 3rd Tues of the month.
o MBI will continue to progress on three interchange projects till CEs are complete
I-5986B Design:
o MBI will need to break project into smaller segments for drainage purposes, most likely
four sections
o MBI will come up with scope, fee and schedule
■ Scope will be a combination of the three interchange projects and anything
additional needed to complete I-5986B portion. MBI will investigate adding
ROW acquisition to scope.
■ MBI will setup biweekly design meetings and invite the Division
o Once CEs are complete on the three interchange projects, MBI will transition to to
working on the corridor CE for I-5986 and the design for I-5986B. ROW acquisition can
begin now in certain strategic locations and continue as the designs progress.
• Public Hearing for I-5877, I-5878 and I-5883 Interchange Improvements:
o Scheduled for 10/24
o Poster size portrait showing the 8-lane section of I-5986B
■ Keep it general, not showing preliminary design because it may be changing
o MBI to check with Jamille Robbins about including some language on post card related
to I-5986B — Direction was provided not to include information for I-5986 in the postcard
• I-5879:
o Needs to follow original schedule
