Chuck and David,
Chuck and I just spoke and I relayed my only concern about the design, which is
making sure that there is enough elevation change to convey the water from the
forebay to the sand filter and still provide 18" of sand and 2' of separation between
the invert of the sand filter and the SHWT. Chuck said he will work on those issues
and that the next submittal will reflect this work.
Thanks,
Annette

Hey Annette,
I have a break at 10:15, 30 minute lunch at noon, and a break at 2:00. Do any of
these times work for you?
Thanks, Chuck

Chuck,
I am relieved to hear that you are proposing this and the concept is sound. I
think you will wind up with a water feature that will be more attractive and a BMP
that will work better too. I looked over the design and have a couple of design
questions for you Chuck. Tomorrow is a state holiday - I will give you a call on
Wed. to discuss.
Thanks,
Annette

Annette,
We have re-evaluated the basin and propose the changes indicated on the
attached sketches. We would like to bounce the idea off you to get any
concerns prior to proceeding.
The pond will be redesigned to serve as a forebay and to hold the water quality
volume only. An underground sand filter will be added so the water quality

volume can run through the sand filter prior to discharging into Richland
Creek. The sand filter will be located under the parking lot. The bottom of
the sand filter will be a minimum of 2 feet above the SHWT. A series of
perforated pipes will 'feed' and 'drain' the sand filter.
The pond will be re-contoured and all vegetation except grass will be removed.
No vegetative shelf or rock weir. Larger trees around the pond will remain as
dictated by Town Ordinance. The pond will remain lined with PVC to retain
water per agreement with the Town. The bottom of the pond and the PVC liner
will be raised above the SHWT. The pond will act as a forebay and will have
additional storage to capture the water water quality volume until it has time
to drain through the sand filter.
Thanks and let us know,
Chuck
