The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the Troy WWTP
on 8/22/2017. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in
compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0028916.
The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of
the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report".
Comments
•There were no significant issues or findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a
response to this inspection report is not required.
*Facility was clean and neat in appearance at the time of the inspection.
•The April 2017 lab sheets were compared to the monthly eDMR and no transcription errors
were found at that time.
*One of the influent pumps may be leaking a little wastewater. Please repair to ensure the
pump is operating at peak performance and to help prevent costly repairs in the future.
•Maintenance records indicated that the generator is tested routinely however it is not
tested under load. Please contact a reputable generator maintenance company to
determine the best way to exercise the generator under load.
*Please remember to document all maintenance activities in the maintenance log.

•A Whole Effluent Toxicity test was collected using a 24-hour composite sample collected on
August 22 and 26, 2017 for use in a chronic Ceriodaphnia pass/fail toxicity test. These
samples were sent to the Division of Water Resources (Aquatic Toxicity) Laboratory in
Raleigh, NC. The Whole Effluent Toxicity pass/fail test resulted in a "PASS" result. The
test results indicated that the Outfall 001 Effluent would not be predicted to have water
quality impacts on the receiving stream-Densons Creek in the Yadkin -Pee Dee River
Basin.
If you should have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mark Brantley with the
Water Quality Regional Operations Section in the Fayetteville Regional Office at 910-433-3300
or via email at mark.brantley@ncdenr.gov.

NPDES Permit # NCO028916/001
Montgomery County
The aquatic toxicity test using flow -proportional composite samples of effluent discharged from
the Troy WWTP has been completed. Troy WWTP has a permitted_effluent discharge of 1.2
million gallons per day (MGD) entering Denson's Creek (7Q10 of 0.35 CFS). Whole effluent
samples were collected on August 22 and August 24 by Mark Brantley and Jonathan Watts for use
in a chronic Cenodophnio dubs pass -fail toxicity test The test passed. Toxicity test information
