Runoff from the bridge deck drains to the east approach where it is captured in an inlet and conveyed to a rip rap ditch before discharging to the stream. This project creates surface water impacts by adding bank stabilization to UT to Dutch Buffalo Creek. Impacts have been minimized by avoiding the use of deck drains, promoting sheet flow and inflitration with grassed shoulders, and providing rip rap bank stabilization where ditches tie into the stream. The removal of existing road fill under the bridge will improve conveyance and reduce velocities in the bridge opening.
