This bridge replacement and the associated roadway improvements have been designed in a manner that minimizes the increase in impervious surface area. One of the the two culvert barrels will have a sill that is 1.0' higher than the other barrel, causing the stream to flow through only one barrel under normal flow conditions. A lateral ditch in the northwest quadrant of the proposed culvert will convey off-site stormwater and runoff from the road surface to an open-ended drive pipe that will discharge into the creek downstream of the proposed culvert. A lateral ditch in the southeast quadrant of the proposed culvert will collect runoff from the road surface and off-site sources that will discharge downstream of the proposed culvert via a cross pipe.
