The subject permit contains an outfall (Outfall 002A) associated with overflows of a yard sump Duke Eneigy is
hereby submitting notification of the closure of the yard sump associated with Outfall 002A by abandoning the yard
sump in-situ by flow filling with concrete The closure is based upon the demolition and final grading of the foimer
coal -tired Dan River Steam Station
Outfall 002A is permitted for collection of stormwater runoff including runoff from the former coal yard The
stormwater collected was pumped to the secondary ash basin with discharge from Outfall 002A as a limited
overflow as needed The final grading of this stormwater drainage area directs the stormwater from this area
through permitted stormwater outfall SW009 as detailed and authorized in pei mit NCS000572
With this submittal, Duke Energy requests that Outfall 002A be made inactive in your computer database as it is
being closed
