This Office approves the one time dredging event utilizing the use of a sidecast dredge for southern connector canal as depicted in Drawing PV -1 dated September 7, 2017. This Office requests that a more detailed map showing historical SAV bed locations be provided to ensure an adequate buffer is maintained. If you any more questions, please feel free to contact me. As we've discussed in the past, restricting dredging to outgoing tides would significantly impact the time required for the dredge to conduct the work. The USACE has informed us that they want to dredge on a 24 hour schedule for this project as they are trying to clear the dredge's backlog before it goes in for some major repairs. Furthermore, we believe that since the dredging for this maintenance event will occur much closer to the inlet throat and considerably further away from previously mapped SAV, the maintenance is much less likely to have an adverse impact with regards to sedimentation. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any further questions regarding the project.
