HomeMy WebLinkAbout2017-09-18 - Public Notice - U-5814 & U-5815 Moore County.pdfNCDOT TO CONDUCT PUBLIC MEETING SEPTEMBER 18 REGARDING TWO PROPOSED ACCESS MANAGEMENT PROJECTS IN ABERDEEN MOORE COUNTY U-5814: U.S. 15-501 FROM U.S. 1 TO BRUCEWOOD ROAD U-5815: U.S. 1 FROM OLD U.S. 1 TO ROSELAND ROAD The N.C. Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting to present information on two access management projects in Aberdeen. The projects would convert U.S. 15-501 between U.S. 1 and Brucewood Road and U.S. 1 between Old U.S. 1 and Roseland Road to superstreets. Superstreets will eliminate the middle turn lane along these corridors and use medians and signs to direct drivers who wish to turn left or straight through from a side street to turn right and then make a safe U-turn a short distance away. The meeting will be held on Monday, September 18t" at the Aberdeen Lake Recreation Center located at 301 Lake Park Crossing in Aberdeen from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Interested citizens may attend at any time during the meeting hours. Representatives of NCDOT and the consulting firm of H.W. Lochner will be available to answer questions and receive comments regarding the project. Please note that no formal presentation will be made. All comments received will be taken into consideration as the project progresses.
