Typical Cross Section Description: 2-11' asphalt paved lanes with 2' paved shoulders. Roadside ditches are retained and 2-10' asphalt paved lanes with grassed shoulders. Roadside ditches exist in all four amended in three quadrents with 3:1 slopes and continue to tie to wetlands prior to Kings quadrents and tie to wetlands prior to Kings Creek Trib 1. Creek Trib 1. Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 1680 Year: 2032 Existing: 840 Year: 2012 General Project Narrative: State project 17BP.3.R.47 involves the replacement of Bridge #660142 on Holly Ridge Rd. (SR 1534) over Kings Creek Trib 1 in Onslow County, NC. The existing bridge (Description of Minimization of Water #660142 consists of 1@ 17'-9°, 1@ 17'-1 °, and 1@ 17'-9° spans with reinforced concrete deck on timber joists and caps. It is to be replaced with a 1@ 50' - 0", 1@ 25' - 0", Quality Impacts) 21" cored slab bridge (75' total length, 33' total width) at the same location. The project also includes 0.093 miles of roadway improvements on each end of the bridge. The proposed bridge does not contain deck drains, all storm water from the bridge and approachees will be collected by a storm drainage system and discharged into a Rip-Rap Pad on the edge of the wetlands in the southern quadrent at -L- 15+07 RT. W hile all four quadrent contain roadside ditches the west quadrent ditch outlets prior to being impacted by the proposed slope stakes and there fore is not effected by the project. The other three quadrents outlet into wetlands prior to reaching Kings Creek Trib 1. This is maintained in the proposed design with variable-width base ditches and class 'B' rip-rap added at the outlet to dissipate the concentrated flow.
