General Project Narrative: State project 17BP.3.R.46 involves the replacement of Bridge #660181 on SR 1518 (Old Folkstone Rd.) over Branch to Turkey Creek in Onslow County, NC. The existing
(Description of Minimization of Water bridge #660181 consists of 3@ 25' - 0" prestressed concrete channels. It is to be replaced with a 1@ 25' - 0", 1@ 60 - 0", 24" cored slab bridge (85' total length, 36' total width)
Quality Impacts) at the same location. The project also includes 0.093 miles of roadway improvements on each end of the bridge.
The proposed bridge does not contain deck drains, all storm water from the bridge approaches will be collected by storm drainage system discharged into a preformed scour
hole in the southwest quadrant at -L- 20+45 RT. The eastern
quadrants both contain ditches that are impacted by the propsed roadway design. To maintain existing conditions the'V' ditches have been designed to tie to the wetland
boundaries with a segment of variable width base ditch. This provides time and space to disapate the concentrated ditch flow prior to it entering the wetlands.
