Narrative Description of the
Sludge Management Plan
For Knightdale Estates MHP WWTP
Knightdale Estates Mobile Home Park uses services provided by
Granville Farms, Inc. (GFI) to handle and dispose of sludge
generated at the facility. GFI utilizes a 4,450 gallon pumper
truck to remove, haul, and land apply sludge under DEQ permit
numbers WQ0000838 and WQ0035595, both of which have
Knightdale Estates Mobile Home Park listed as a certified
generating source. In the event that weather conditions or other
circumstances do not allow for land application, GFI may haul to a
drying bed or dewater sludge and take the solids to a compost
facility or landfill.
