Avoidance and Minimization 1a. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project:* The old bridge is being replaced with another bottomless structure to minimize aquatic life passage disruption. The minimal amount of culvert needed is being used. The crossing is being replaced on location (versus new location) I to minimize stream and riparian impacts. 1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques:* Excavation in flowing water will be avoided with temporary dikes/diversions. Effective erosion controls will be used throughout construction. 2. Compensatory Mitigation for Impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State 2a. Does the project require Compensatory Mitigation for impacts to Waters of the U.S. or Waters of the State? C' Yes C•' No 2b. If this project DOES NOT require Compensatory Mitigation, explain why: I The only permanent impacts are minimal amounts of rip rap to help protect the stream and stream banks. F.
