If surface water or BS impacts were increased, or other significant changes as in the April, 2017 R-2915B modification, then yes a formal modification would be necessary. If the Corps requires a permit modification in this case, DWR will follow suit and review the information as well. Thanks. Dave W. At Permit Site 6, a pipe that was previously going to be extended is in bad shape, so they need to bore and jack a new pipe instead. The new pipe will be adjacent to the old one and the tie-in should occur close to the originally proposed outlet in the area permitted as bank stabilization with riprap. See below info from the Division as well as the attached photo and drawings (both proposed and what was originally permitted). Do you believe this warrants a permit modification? I should be in the office all week if you’d like to discuss. In addition, I wanted to follow up on the permit modification for R-2915B that was requested on April 7, 2017. We received the 401 mod back in May but have not yet seen the 404. Were you ever able to issue that? As I mentioned on the phone, the existing pipe is rotten and already separated at the outlet end. EC measures are being installed now. The bored pipe will essentially follow the 2 C/A line on the plans (not sure what that is supposed to be since we aren’t running controlled access fencing across the road). The inlet of the new pipe will tie into a larger box about 30 deep. Permanent impacts should remain about the same. There will be a very short channel tie in constructed through the proposed riprap shown on the plans at the outlet. I don’t think this warrants a permit modification but the regulators should make that call. Please coordinate and let us know. Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N.C.
