In accordance with 15A North Carolina Administrative Code 02H .0503, a Public Notice for this hearing was published in The Fayetteville Observer, the News & Observer, the Rocky Mount Telegram, the Roanoke -Chowan News -Herald, the Robesonian and the Wilson Times on June 17, 2017, in the Daily Herald and the Sampson Independent on June 18, 2017, and posted online and sent by mail to the Water Quality Certification Mailing List on June 16, 2017. A correction to the public notice to correct a typo in the pipe diameter was posted online on June 19, sent to the mailing list on June 20, and issued in the newspapers on June 21 and 22. The purpose of this hearing is to obtain public comment on the application for a 401 Water Quality Certification and Riparian Buffer Authorization from Atlantic Coast Pipeline, LLC for the Atlantic Coast Pipeline project. This hearing is not a question and answer session with DEQ staff; it is an opportunity for us to obtain community feedba on the application. I I will be preparing a written record of these proceedings. For this reason, the audio of this hearing is being recorded. Written comments received by 5:00 p.m. on August 19, 2017 will also be included as part of the record, Written comments may be submitted to the email address or postal address found on the handout available at the registration ,iesk., Equal weight will be given to both written and oral comments.
