Clement From: Clement Riddle Sent: Wednesday, August 23, 2017 10:29 AM To: Kichefski, Steven L CIV USARMY CESAW (US) <Steven. L. Kichefski @usace.army.miI> Subject: TIEC - SAW 2013-02262 Steve, This information is being submitted following our meeting on August 14 and your follow-up email from August 22, 2017. The applicant has considered the alternative of moving the Multipurpose/polo field location further west of the originally shown Alternative #2 and east of the preferred alternative as discussed. This location is severely constrainec along the northern boundary by the location of two parcels to the north that TIEC has not been able to purchase and along the southern boundary of White Oak Creek. This alternative (map attached) does not provide sufficient area for the field layout. This is apparent without preparing a grading plan with a minimum of 2:1 slopes to the south. This alternative extends onto either the adjacent property or into White Oak Creek. In order for this alternative to work, the applicant would require stream impacts including relocation to hundreds of feet White Oak Creek. In this alternative, the previously approved impacts (446 linear feet of stream channel) would still be applicable associated with the construction of parking and International Boulevard to the east of the existing field to facilitate traffic in this area and create a secondary /eastern access. The areas around the polo field will ultimately be used for safety run -out areas, stands, parking, concessions, and access. Polo field design guidelines recommend a 90 foot run out safety areas on the north and south ends and 30 foot safety area on the sides. This increase the flat field area from 10 to 12 acres. TIEC has designed the preferred alternative to allow for this access around the field, parking, and required safety run -out areas approximately 60 -feet for the horses during polo matches.
