I would like to state my objection to the proposed Atlantic Coast Pipeline for the following reasons: A - It's dependent on Duke Power, which has a lousy record of caring for the environment. I don't trust them for a moment to take good care of the surrounds. Why should I? I have only to think of coal ash ponds then shudder to think what they could do to pristine property. B - As in A, the pipeline is going through environmentally sensitive areas of the state, that should be protected by all of us. The fact that the poor people who live in proximity to the proposed pipeline don't have the resources to object as other more powerful people did should NOT be a reason to defile their/our precious property. It should be precious to all of us, rich and poor alike. C - The jobs created will be short term, OK for the moment but not for the long haul. Let's think ahead for heaven's sake. D - North Carolina is in the lead with renewable energy, where we should be spending our resources. Wind and solar are the energy sources for the future...let's continue leading, not falling backwards. Susan Rush 7 Pine Orchard Lane Pinehurst, NC 28374 1
