Subject:Stop the Atlantic Coast Pipeline
Dear Committee:
From what I have heard about the proposed Atlantic Coat Pipeline, it should not be built. The process
of building it will harm the people, animals, and plants of the area. I do not hear the Native American
groups in the area asking for it. I do not know that it will serve the other people of the area. It will harm
the trails the animals use in the area and cut them off from places they need to go.
The construction is listed as having "temporary" effects on the area. The uprooting of trees as well as
people and animals will last for 30 years or more. It may give temporary jobs to some people in the
area, but their water will be contaminated and lives disrupted in the long run.
Please do not build the Atlantic Coast Pipeline in our state of North Carolina. It is not being built for
the people of North Carolina. It is just for the big companies to get bigger.
Sincerely,
Jane Goldthwait
